The "So Now What?" Podcast

I am a Fertility Survivor.  The kind you enter into treatments hoping you will never be... childless.  After several rounds of IUI and IVF, at some of the leading Fertility Centers, I was told I was no longer a candidate for fertility treatment.  It left me asking myself...

So now what?

For the years that followed, I tried to put myself back together and tell myself I would be OK, but I wasn't.  I was shattered - I felt alone and failed by the whole process and especially, my body.  I yearned for others that felt the pain I felt and someone that could help me navigate a life without a child.

I didn't find it, so I decide to create it.

Fast forward to today. I am still childless, but my beliefs about my life have changed.  I decided that I can create meaning and purpose in my life even though I am not a mother.  I've learned to love myself and the body I felt failed me as a woman.

If you've been on this journey, hop on and join me as we create something we were not offered.  Let's create a sisterhood for the bravest women I know.  We brush ourselves off and don't let terms like: Failed, Unexplained, Miscarriage, Not-viable or Advanced Maternal Age define us anymore.

After multiple IUI and IVF cycles, my weight gain was prominent.  Throughout my 7 year journey of medicated cycles, I packed on an extra 25lbs.  When my fertility journey ended and I remained childless, my weight gain stuck around.  Food became a comfort to me and I used it as a way to ease my sadness and fill time in my day when I was feeling lonely.  When I looked in the mirror and saw a body that was broken and figured “why bother”.  I gave up my fight for me, but knew I didn’t want to be fat for the rest of my childless life. I started and stopped Weight Watchers more times than I care to admit. Time after time, I’d lose the weight and gain it back again.  Until I started pay closer attention to a woman who’s podcast I started listening to.  She would talk about how to lose your weight for the last time. How to eat when you are hungry and stop when you are full.   In this episode of The “So Now What?” Podcast, Lana is joined by her mentor;  Life Coach and No BS Weightloss Founder Corinne Crabtree to discuss Corrine’s weight loss journey, No BS Weightloss, and answer the following questions:

How did Corinne lose 100lbs?

What inspired Corrinne to start No BS Weightloss?

How did No BS Weightloss help Lana in her weight loss journey?

Why is food used as an emotional buffer?

How do you challenge negative beliefs about yourself?

How to implement Corrine’s four Ns (Notice, Normalize, Neutralize, Next Best Thought or Action) method?
